I have a passion for theatrical sound design and narrative. All those years of making soundtracks for my stories is finally paying off. Below is a smattering of experiments in sound collage and some singer-songwriter yearning.

SOME DESIGN AND EXPERIMENTS
In The Bedroom
As kid, I recorded my diary onto tape. A 3 minute personal exploration of the sounds of my childhood.

Summit Push
A short narrative about a mountain-climbing tragedy.

Speech Event
What did someone say to you that you can never get out of your mind?

The Ledge
The challenge: score an excerpt from my story by only using a piano for every last effect.

DEMOS
Stage Fright
This is the most produced I think I'll ever experience. Recorded in a studio in Chicago, the afternoon of my brother's rehearsal dinner. The spectacular drumming, bass, electric guitar and violin were courtesy of the Bowl of Fire.

Cleverest
A very rough mix of a piano/guitar tune. Recorded from the mantlepiece. Thanks to Steven Jenkins' fingers.

Type
Produced by Steven Johnson, master of many domains.

The Bearer
Vocals and lyrics by the sexcellent Annie Keating, Neil Young's child.

Dew Point
Produced by Josh Kamensky, master of many domains II. Kid is scary talented. I knew him when he had crop circles in his hair.

Exposition
There's no excuse for namby vocals like this. But when was the last time you sang a song you wrote? The accordion funk is all JK. (see above)

Love Never Crossed My Mind
Namby vocals, The Sequel. A song about promiscuity. I dedicated it to my mom at the first public performance. That didn't go over well. It was a joke people.

So Much Work
Pete Yorn.
